Transmasculine directors memorialize the lives of two trans boys gone too soon, sharing their legacies with tenderness. The memories of Blake Brockington and Kyler Prescott are held dearly by their communities, families, coaches, teachers, and the film’s directors. Blake inspired many through his proud embrace of his trans identity on Tumblr and as the first openly trans homecoming king in 2014. Kyler, who lived a quieter life, is remembered as sweet, creative, and deeply loved. Both were poets and musicians navigating trans discrimination and mental health struggles despite supportive communities.

Rather than sensationalizing suicide among transgender youth, co-directors Lexie Bean and Logan Rozos portray Blake and Kyler as beloved souls, not tragic statistics. Reflecting on the connections between their own experiences and those of the boys, they create a hopeful gift for trans youth while exploring what it takes to heal in community.
