Ryan should be a familiar face to many of you as he’s always eager to support us during the Festival and also at our many other fundraising and public events. Here’s a bit from Ryan on his experience volunteering with Out On Screen:

“My first year of volunteering with Out On Screen was in 2013, and it was a wonderfully positive experience. I met amazing people, saw incredible films, and found a place which I was excited to return to year after year. And that I did, as Out On Screen became my portal to the 2SLGBTQIA+ culture and community; it was also my way to contribute while feeling connected at the same time”

The 2019 recipient is Anna Vander Munnik, a volunteer who exemplifies the best of our communities through their service to Out On Screen for years. Anna has volunteered both during the Festival and year round, in the office and at special events. She has worn many hats to support Out on Screen whether supporting the Development department or volunteering with Front of House, she has engaged at nearly every level of our work! Anna has a rare level of care and enthusiasm for Out On Screen, our programs, and our donors and audiences. She does all this quietly and seemingly without the desire to be recognized. Well Anna, we see you and recognize all you have and continue to do for Out On Screen and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Thank you Anna for your dedication and service in holding up 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

Our 2018 award recipient is Rosy Deol. They have truly captured the spirit of Out On Screen over the past 4 years. From editing our program guide, driving visiting artists around the city, data entry for Out In Schools, and working almost every screening during the last four festivals, she has amazed every one of our staff with her grace, knowledge, and has done so tirelessly without recognition.
