George M. Johnson’s critically acclaimed memoir of the same title is given new life through a poetic performance reading. Reflecting Johnson’s experiences as Black masc and non-binary, the film uniquely chronicles Johnson’s life, exploring themes of Black queerness, queer identity assumptions, cultural normativity, and HIV/ AIDS in the Black community.
