J.E Tiglao’s debut feature film Metamorphosis is a first for Filipinx cinema. Set in Natividad, Philippines, it tells the story of 15 year-old Adam who finds out he is intersex after getting his first period. Following his first few months of discovering, we join Adam in his exploration of gender, sexuality, and what he wants for the future. Tiglao has created a coming-of-age film that is visually ethereal. The way he has crafted this story is honest and emotionally vulnerable. With his directorial debut, Tiglao has created the first Filipinx narrative feature with an intersex main character.

Content Advisory: pedophilia, sexual exploitation, religious trauma, homophobic and transphobic language.
