Listen in as some of Canada’s largest networks, broadcasters, and streaming platforms discuss what they look for in film pitches and discuss the current status of Canadian content.

Selling Your Project panelists include the co-founders of queer streaming platform Revry TV: CEO and producer Damian Pelliccione and Chief Content Officer Christopher J. Rodriguez; Cole Vandale, Métis filmmaker and executive of Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN); and Sandra Kleinfeld, Senior Director of Documentary for CBC Television.

This event will be followed by invite-only Industry Speed-Dating: all VQFF 2025 artists and select VQFF alumni will be invited to connect with industry executives 1:1 to chat about your upcoming projects.

Damian Pelliccione, Co-founder & CEO, Revry

As Hollywood’s only openly Non-Binary CEO, Damian Pelliccione was named one of Business Insider’s “Top 16 Power Player Execs in AD Video Streaming Space” and is one of four diverse co-founders of Revry, the 1st global Queer (LGBTQ+) (Certified Minority Owned and Operated) streaming media company. Revry is available on over 60+ Connected TV (CTV), Free-Ad-Supported-TV (FAST), Over-The-Top (OTT), desktop, mobile devices, smart TV, and major ad-supported networks. Revry was named ‘App of the Day’ by Apple IOS and Damian’s story was featured globally on Apple IOS in the ‘Developer Spotlight‘.  Damian was named one of Goldman Sachs ‘Top 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs‘, was featured on the ‘Out 100’ list, and is a recipient of the West Hollywood Rainbow Key Award. Damian also won a GLAAD Media Award for the original series “Drag Latina”. Damian and their co-founders are all graduates of Goldman Sachs Black and Latinx 2020 accelerator program. 

Damian has acted as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia College Chicago and has lectured at over 20 universities and colleges across the globe including the University of Southern California, Los Angeles Film School, and BAU University Istanbul Turkey amongst others. Damian is also a proud member of StartOut, Out in Tech, and Trans Tech Organizations. Damian also serves as a board member of The Trans-Chorus of Los Angeles. Damian is an encyclopedia on queer issues and DEI topics, particularly as they pertain to the profitability and great business value of investing in queer audiences and companies. From diverse visibility and pop culture knowhow to the latest in streaming TV and integrated marketing, Damian’s experience has made him ideally suited to a wide sprawl of topics. A speaker with authority, Damian has acted as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia College Chicago and has lectured at over 20 universities and colleges across the globe including the University of Southern California, Los Angeles Film School, and BAU University Istanbul Turkey amongst others.

Christopher J. Rodriguez, C-founder & Chief Content Officer, Revry

 

Christopher Jon Rodriguez, Esq. has extensive experience in the entertainment industry, holding various legal and executive roles. Currently serving as Co-Founder and Chief Content Officer at Revry, Christopher Jon oversees content development and productions. In addition, he positions such as Head of Operations at QueerX and General Counsel at New Media Vault, LLC. Christopher Jon’s background includes working as an attorney at companies like MGM/United Artists and Original Productions. Rodriguez is a graduate of Loyola Law School and UCLA, holding a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts degree, respectively.

 

An attorney with a background in entertainment law, he previously worked at Original Productions, working on reality shows like Storage Wars, The Deadliest Catch, and Jay Leno’s Garage. Chris was then the show attorney for Shark Tank and The People’s Choice Awards at United Artist/MGM. He met his co-founder, Alia Daniels, at law school, and he and his husband (and additional co-founder) Damian Pelliccione have been together for 15+ years. They collaborated on one of their first productions in 2014 before founding Revry – the world’s first LGBTQ+ streaming service – two years later. Revry was founded by an authentically assembled team of diverse individuals: 75% queer, 75% POC, 50% women of color, and 50% non-binary. This ethos naturally has trickled down into how Revry does business and who they do business with.

Cole Vandale, Development and Scripted Production Executive / Management, APTN

Born and raised in Invermere, B.C., and a proud member of the Métis Nation of Alberta, Cole Vandale is a filmmaker with over 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He began his career as a performer, later moving behind the camera and eventually expanding into writing, directing and producing. 

Over the years, Cole has produced award-winning short films that have screened at festivals such as the Vancouver International Film Festival, imagineNATIVE, Māoriland, the American Indian Film Festival and many others. He recently worked as a writer and second director on the APTN series Bears’ Lair and as associate producer for the interactive feature Inheritance. His short film Starlight was a finalist for the Sundance Ignite x Adobe Fellowship.

Cole completed Capilano University’s Filmmakers in Indigenous Leadership & Management Business Affairs (FILMBA) program, the NSI Access BIPOC Producers program and the IM4 Virtual Production Storytelling Micro-Credential. He joined APTN in 2025 as development and scripted production executive, and he is eager to champion emerging Indigenous voices in this role.

Sandra Kleinfeld, Senior Director of Documentary, CBC

Sandra is Senior Director of Documentary for CBC Television, overseeing documentary content that includes original one-off feature documentaries, limited doc series, The Nature of Things, The Passionate Eye, CBC Short Docs, and the subscription based documentary Channel.

Her career as a broadcast executive encompasses three conventional, three analog and two digital specialty channels. Prior to overseeing documentaries, Sandra was Director of Development for CBC’s Unscripted Content where she was responsible for finding new formats, overseeing development and production of formats, original factual entertainment series, and documentaries. She helped establish a new programming presence in prime time, supervising the Canadian iterations of several international formats: the award-winning and long-running Dragons’ Den, The Week the Women Went, and Test the Nation, development of the first English language version of Still Standing and Village on a Diet, the first North American iteration of Keeping The Nation Alive, and development and production of Hello Goodbye.
