Queride (gender neutral “darling” in Spanish) brings together five fierce filmmakers from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba and Mexico to celebrate queer, trans and nonbinary stories. These heartwarming films explore complex and intimate relationships, sharing insights into LGBTQIA+ Latine ways of loving, letting go, and finding joy with friends, lovers, and family.

All films in this program will also be available to watch online.

Katherina Harder

Director, 'Desert Lights (Estrellas del desierto)'

Chilean Film and TV director. Co-Founder and Director of Iquique International Film Festival. Her short films have been premiered in  film festivals like Tribeca, Mar del Plata, and FICGuadalajara. Her short ‘Estrellas del desierto’ won more than 61 International awards and qualified for the Oscars. She is currently developing her feature film ‘Plaster Virgins’.

Daniel Eduvijes Carrera

Director, 'El Paisa'

Daniel Eduvijes Carrera screened at the Cannes, Tribeca, Guadalajara, Morelia and Los Angeles Film Festivals, at numerous art museums and on international broadcasts. He’s the winner of the Imagen Award and was recognized as Best Latino Film Director by the DGA. He’s also a Fulbright Scholar and the proud son of Mexican immigrants.

Ana Gutiérrez Salgado

Director, 'LOLO'

Ana Gutiérrez Salgado (1987) lives in Mexico City. She specialized in Creative Documentary. With LOLO, Ana ventures into the direction of fiction stories, without leaving behind, as creative axes, her experience in documentaries and the different social contexts that inhabit the city and its communities.
