This five-part scripted series is an honest and comedic exploration of the contemporary, urban queer and trans Indigenous experience following a group of friends and their social-media engrossed lives. Exploring romance, identity, and belonging with an all-Indigenous cast and crew, KIN. offers a realistic window into the lives of Indigenous queer and trans people and the complexities they face as they come of age.

Starring Ta’Kaiya Blaney (Monkey Beach, Kayak to Klemtu) and Aalayna in her first film role, KIN. also features Waawaate Fobister, Adrienne Huard, Aya Clappis, and Kelsey Wavey. This BC Premiere is a hometown celebration and a showcase of KIN.‘s powerhouse on-screen talent.

Justin Ducharme

Justin Ducharme was a fellow in the Sundance Film Festival’s 2022 Native Film Lab. He was the recipient of the Toronto International Film Festival’s Barry Avrich Fellowship and is an alumni of their 2021 TIFF Filmmaker Lab. Justin is the co-editor of Hustling Verse, and has been featured in Canadian Art, Sex Worker Wisdom, Room Magazine, Prism International and Filmmaker Mag.
