Together, we can build brighter, more inclusive communities – today. By making a donation to Out On Screen, you will be supporting the work of both the Vancouver Queer Film Festival and Out In Schools. Your gift will have a transformative impact in the community and provide resources to curate innovative film programs, convene critical discussions, and catalyze social change for 2SLGBTQIA+ people. You can change lives. With your support, we can:
- showcase the best in independent queer film from around the world
- provide a crucial platform for marginalized voices
- transform schools and the education system
- give young people the opportunity to bring their stories to the big screen
- create safer spaces for queer communities to connect, share, and celebrate
Of queer film screened each year through the VQFF and Out In Schools programs, uplifting LGBT2Q+ communities, artists, and stories on big and small screens. We leverage the power of film to transform lives.
Paid annually to queer, trans, and Two Spirit artists through film rentals, performer bookings, and speaker fees, contributing to a vibrant ecology of artists and activists, with thousands of dollars more rippling through local economies.
On average, half of the films we show each year are by Canadian filmmakers, centring the experiences of queer, trans, and Two Spirit filmmakers. We emphasize films by BC-based filmmakers and Indigenous filmmakers from Turtle Island.
