About Out On Screen
Celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2018, the Vancouver Out On Screen Film & Video Society is a registered charity and professional queer arts organization dedicated to celebrating queer lives through film, education and dialogue. Our vision is of a society where gender and sexual diversity are fully embraced. Our team is passionate about making a difference in our communities and we strive to create a culture that is in line with the values of the communities we serve.
Currently, we deliver on our mission with two core programs:
The LGBT2Q+ and allied communities are at the center of everything we do. We are a part of, and do our best to serve, our big diverse queer family in BC. About the Position
Located in our office in Downtown Vancouver – the Box Office Coordinator is a part-time (22.5-37.5 hrs per week) contract position that coordinates all of our box office and ticket sales for the Festival.
June 18-August 5: 22.5 hours per week
August 6-August 26: 37.5 hours per week
August 27-September 7: 22.5 hours per wweek
Your primary role is to ensure that our box office is a good smooth experience for all our patrons.
The wage for this position is based on a salary of $40,884 per year for full time, prorated for partial weeks of service. This position will have flexible work schedule based upon the demands of the time of year with particular emphasis on the lead up and during the Vancouver Queer Film Festival. Out On Screen is a certified Living Wage Employer.

The Deputy Executive Director occupies a key leadership role in the organization, leading the internal operations of the organization to enable strong, well-resourced and sustainable programming for the communities we serve. They are a key member of the senior leadership team and provide direct support annually to the Vancouver Queer Film Festival’s overall management and promotions.
The position is located in our office in Downtown Vancouver, on unceded Coast Salish Territories – the Deputy Executive Director is a full-time permanent position. The salary for this position is based on a range of $53,000-$60,000 per year.
The Deputy Executive Director reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with the Artistic Directors, Education Director, and Development Director.
The Deputy Executive Director supervises the Bookkeeper, Operations & HR Coordinator, and Festival Promotions staff.
Objective: Build and nurture a leading edge staff and volunteer team that will carry Out On Screen’s mission forward through effective recruitment, sustainable organizational planning, compensation, development, management, and opportunity. Foster and inspire a positive work environment where all staff and volunteers thrive.
Objective: Our budgets are in line with Out On Screen’s strategic priorities and programming is delivered within approved budgets.
Objective: Provide support to Out On Screen programs to ensure they create accessible and representative experiences that harness the transformative power of queer film, storytelling, and art.
Program Design, Development & Evaluation
Objective: Oversee and manage relationships with the public sector that ensure appropriate levels of support for Out On Screen.
